Ezekiel-BlackMass Jones
January 17, 2018 – (to be continued in love)

Zeke came into my life from a breeder in Idaho, along with his brother Odin, who went home with one of my best friends and coworkers, Dave England. Zeke brought me so much happiness after the loss of my first dog—filling a space I didn’t think could ever be filled again.

For years, he came to work with me every day at the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area, where he spent his days alongside Odin. I trained him for waterfowl hunting, but it turned out he was gun-shy. I didn’t care—he wasn’t meant to be just a hunting dog. He was my companion.

Zeke loved hiking and backpacking most of all. We covered countless trails together, and his last big adventure was this fall—to Teal and Cutthroat Lakes in the High Uintas. He’s seen me through some of the hardest times in my life, always loyal, always by my side.

He’s a character—he loves to bark, eat, steal food, raid the trash can, see friends, and hit the trail. He’s been with me through everything, and I’ll love him for the rest of my life.

Love,
Your Dad,
Jason
