Sissy was adopted by my daughter when she was 7 months old – scared, afraid, and mistreated when she came to us.
She became a strong, fearless little girl definitely running the household. Thanks to my shoulder surgery, during my recovery, she became attached to me and was my dog; as the years went by she eventually became her mom’s dog while still ruling the roost. She used to warn us when our son Braden would come around, giving us a little growl at first then full-on barking when he was within her sight, she was mad at him because she’d gone under our deck when she was still young, afraid, and untrusting, he saved her life because she wouldn’t come out; she was so outraged that for a time, all we had to do to get her to react was say his name – we still laugh about that a lot and she finally did tolerate him…
She was our best little girl, we do and will miss her terribly.
